Ugh, my Internet has mostly been down for this entire week, it's been a real challenge to stay online long enough to get some shots done. I finally pm'd my chosen image; I hope I won't get any second thoughts anymore xD.
Some randomness:
Dwayna is jealous of my hair.
A toast to us all.
Ooh, I'm quite flattered about the poll *blush*..

(Noanoa, I voted for you too.. lol.. your shots are just gorgeous)
I keep looking at the picture that I sent in, and I'm so worried now that I went the wrong direction! I'm glad I sent it in though, otherwise I'd still be trying to choose, and I'm terrible at making decisions on deadlines. *indescisive*
Will we get the results back on Sunday? (I think that's monday my time)

That's true, I'm going to wait untill I see the pictures of the assignment and then I'll vote as well.
As for the assignment, we can send via email or pm right, and the email, must it be to TNTM representative (from when we got emailed)? (almost totally sure on that one, but to be 100% sure I'm asking again)
I'm almost done with picking the picture I want to take (one of the hardest parts of it all imho ^^) so again good luck to everyone!
|
Yes, the TNTMrep e-mail is the only e-mail we recieved so yes send to that one

I would like to extend a big THANKS to Lokii and Mango for helping me find the one spot in this gorgeous game where it rains. Thank you to both of you for your extraordinary help and friendliness in what could be a heated competition!
BTW: This poll is scary! Mango is leaps and bounds ahead :S :worried:

Here are Beyoncee's Application Photos! I know I'm a bit late.
For some reason I thought we were supposed to take them in the Temple of Balthazar and not the Isle of the Nameless - so they're a bit boring

Thanks Roguish Seraph! Well, I ended up sending it via PM (hope everything went well) but next time (if there WILL be a next time O.O) I'll send it via mail.
I guess it's okay to be a bit panicky and nervous over the picture you sent in but it's better to let it rest a little.. You can't do anything anymore for that picture, so I think you should relax ^^!
Beyoncee we WERE supposed to make them at Temple of Balthazar if I'm right.. I've got to say your mesmer looks really unique and pretty!
Can't wait to see everyone's pictures !

Whut? I thought it was mandatory to take them in the Temple and only in the Temple. At least I took all mine there.
Nice to "get to know" your character, I've been wondering what she looked like ^^. We definitely need more pictures of that beautiful Vabbian.

Yup, panicking is completely normal. And trust me, it only gets worse the longer you stay in the competition. Just don't let panic cloud your judgment and spoil the screenshots (it had that effect on me a couple of times...). Good luck to all of you! I'm sure you've gotten great screens!

Wow, surprise surprise, everyone has submitted their assignment! You guys arent procrastinators like last cycle who sent pictures one hour before the deadline lol. Well that just means we're going into deliberations early, and hopefully, we'll get the first "judging panel" done as well. If I manage to edit the panel in time and post it by the end of the day, we can expect elimination results to be tomorrow and the next assignment as well! The next assignment is my absolute favorite, i manage to convince everyone to push it forward so that everyone can do it, of course I would've loved to have made it week 1's assignment, but the calendar shoot just made more sense. Anyways, expect that info tomorrow.
For this week, its clear to me that there is a visible line between those who hit the mark and those who didn't. Unfortunately, only 11 of you will get the chance to improve and impress us again. So I wish everyone good luck! Relax and just have fun!

Photoshoot Assignment 01: Twelve Months - Evaluations
Welcome to our first panel for cycle 2...some of you did amazing, some of you could use some work, here are our comments for your first assignment...in Monthly order...
Miss January - Arala Starsong
When I think about January, I think about New Years, with parties, dancing, champagne, cities and lots of people. I took this shot outside of imperial sanctum because it's lighting is very warm, bringing energy and excitement to the picture. The building in the background looks huge, as if it's full of people, ready to celebrate the New Year. The sky appears as though it's just turning dusk, ready for the parties to begin. The red overtones are also traditionally used in Chinese culture to symbolise luck, which fits perfectly with this Canthan New Year shot.
Judge 1: My biggest problem with this shot is exactly what you said. This is very Chinese new years, which is in February, not January. Other than that, I think this shot is a good shot, but it's more suited for February versus January.
Judge 2: I like the celebration, I like the aura this picture gives off, but again, the Chinese New Years is in February, and your assignment was to do January, I think if you moved to a different location, you would've lost that strong asian appeal that sways your picture more towards the Chinese' lunar calendar new years.
Judge 3: I agree with both judges completely, nice picture, but not January. The spark and fun factor of this picture is completely wasted, I just don't get that January feel in this picture.
Miss February - Beyoncee Knowlez
I took my shot in the Iron Mines of Moladune. I picked it because I really liked the ice lake and it fits with the February theme. I wanted to show that even though February has Valentine's Day in it, for ones without love in their life it can be lonely and cold. That's why Beyoncee is standing to the left of the picture bundled in her coat and the only thing on the right is the Ice Lake and a ship.
Judge 1: This picture is so pretty! I just feel that there is so much more potential in this picture that could've been achieved. I know you wanted to convey a "lonely" Valentines, but I just feel that you could've just pushed the envelope and really sell this picture off if you incorporated a male model, and both of you in this picture could've almost create an illusion that you we're ice skating together. I personally done a picture that is similar to that aspect, so I know there could've been a really good picture produced had you done that, all in all, I think this is a good picture.
Judge 2: I think this picture is pretty good! As Judge 1 mentioned, this does somewhat resembles you ice skating, the picture is very glam. The story you we're trying to convey is maybe too unappealing to this type of an assignment. This is a calendar shoot after all, and you want to show and project happiness.
Judge 3: The frame looks way too wide, I think you should've cropped that boat out of the picture. The scene is very pretty and the armor choice is very suiting for winter, just work on cropping.
Miss March - Bierflesjes Klaus
I took it in the Isle of Meditation guild hall. I picked the scenary because I thought it was really pretty and it kind of reminded me of a place I used to go a lot in the spring time when I was younger.
Judge 1: I think you should've went with a St Patrick's day theme and really exaggerated on greens. I suppose this somewhat suggests the idea of Spring Time...but I would've rather went with maybe a grassy plain with flowers, rather than the waterfall. I can appreciate your memories, but it's not going to sell "spring" to us, personal memories are just that, personal, something you would know. You have to remember that you need to show us spring. So I think a more obvious choice would've been better.
Judge 2: I think this could be used for spring, but it would've been better if you would've been naked, then I would at least get an intention of maybe, swimming in the lake, which could've been a spring time activity.
Judge 3: I think this is too ordinary. This picture doesn't show me March. Not at all. This picture is just too plain, there's nothing to be told. If I can use this picture in the other months, which I can, then this picture is nothing unique to Spring time or to March.
Miss April - Geisha Nugra
I chose this picture because it emphasizes Geisha's feelings about April (which coincide with mine also [What a coincidence right? lol],) that the month seems to be so gloomy and all that ever happens is rain. The emote used is '/sigh' and gives Geisha a look that seems aggravated but somehow relieved at the same time. The armour chosen, while still meshing with the dark sky, seems to contrast the harsh oranges and red-browns of the ground and the light tans, golds and yellows of the grass. It is 1.5k Luxon with a dye mixture of Blue + Green + Silver. The castle in this scene adds to what would have been a very generic 'Vacation Shot.' A wide crop was used to show more of the rain and the gloomy sky that goes along with this month.
Judge 1: I like that you brought in the idea of the rainy month, but I almost see nothing of you or the rain. The tall leaves almost stand out more than you do.
Judge 2: The background choice is poor, its dry and arid, very desert like. It's just not there for me as far as April is concerned.
Judge 3: Not only are you not dominantly in the picture, the colors are autumn, dead, dried up leaves. If you wanted rain, go to Bai Paasu Reach or Eredon Terrace, one of those areas have rain in it, but also shows spring time. Your cropping definitely needs work.
Miss May - Lokii Dia
This shot was taken in Linnok Courtyard by the beautiful cherry blossom trees that sit at the base of the stairs before you speak to Togo, and your untimely doom into Factions. Since my month assigned to me was May, I referred to that all knowing saying: "April Showers, brings May flowers." With Searing destroyed by the Charr there are very limited number of colorful flowers wandering around Ascalon and the rest of the boundaries of Tyria.I instantly thought Linnok's easter egg pastels of greens, pinks, and yellows seemed all too perfect for the May setting. Just looking at the these trees you can't help but want to pick and keep those gentle flowers and just think of spring.
Judge 1: This is a very pretty shot! I love the colors, from vegetation to the armor, everything just works.
Judge 2: The pose is very lovely, very elegant. Picture is so vibrant, so lively, wreaks spring time.
Judge 3: I'm glad you went with the pastels. Anything else would've been bad, I seen this before, and when people hear the words flowers for spring time, they automatically go to Garden Of Seborhin. The colors there are too wild there, and the plant life there are too tropical, so it was very good that you went with this. Great picture all around.
Miss June - Lunamaria Cruz
Theres nothing better than those late Summer Nights
Judge 1: You didn't exactly answer our question. You made a comment, but it didn't answer what was asked. On top of that, the picture is rather bland and lackluster.
Judge 2: This could essentially be June! I just think it's too boring. It should be more livelier, June is summer time, more excitement, more fun.
Judge 3: You look tired. You look bored. And that's exactly how your picture reads, very boring. Plus the cropping is a little off, needs to be shorter, it's too long, lots of negative space.
Miss July - Mila Fox
I took my shot in Mehtani Keys. After trying with a few different locations I thought that Mehtani Keys would be ideal for the month of July. Its dazzling waters and sandy shores would be the perfect location to shoot.
Judge 1: Very pretty scenery, maybe a little too much, crop out the mountains and trees and leaving just the beach and sand would've been better. I loved how you used the Vabbian top to try and pull off as a bikini top, very pretty.
Judge 2: This picture is so pretty! It looks like you're taking a morning dip in the beach and stretching. It's very relaxed and soothing, beautiful colors, totally summer.
Judge 3: I think if you cropped more of yourself in, and left out more of the scene, it would've been better for me. You look very long and slender, as a model should look. Work on cropping definitely.
Miss August - Miss Melly
I thought Riverside Province would be most fitting scenery to portray August, with the night beach environment symbolizing the end of Summer.
Judge 1: Very beautiful shot, you look like a rich celebrity taking a stroll down the beach after partying at a beach condo.
Judge 2: It looks a little weird to me, I think you look to dolled up to be going to the beach, I know there are a lot of high fashion editorials that have that edge to it, one in particular where models were wearing wedding dresses at a construction site, but for this assignment, I think this is too much. Even if this was a beach party, people would still dress down. Your armor doesn't match the scene.
Judge 3: I agree that you are to dressed up for such an occassion, but least you didn't wear something totally outrageous. Like kurzick armor or vabbian.
Miss September - Mojave Mango Juice
It is September on Wizard's Isle. The leaves are making their annual change from greens to warmer shades as Summer ends and Autumn begins. Mango sits near a bush that is making its change, contemplating the magic and beauty that Melandru has created.
Judge 1: Not good, not bad, its very ordinary. Very plain jane.
Judge 2: The color scheme is very nice and fitting for autumn!
Judge 3: I'm glad that the divine aura didn't interfere too much, it almost adds to it if anything. Very nice picture, it isn't too exciting, but its not bad.
Miss October - Sarah Eleanore
I took my shot in House Zu Heltzer. When I first got October as assignment I was a little anxious of thinking of places and poses. The tip you guys gave me with the halloween and kurzick area though, was great and I've used it! While I was looking around the kurzick area it was hard to get nice shoots with good lighting and background that wouldn't go bad when cropped. So finally I came to House Zu Heltzer and while shooting around I finally came upon that huge stone tree. I thought it looked massive and amazing, so I tried poses with that. I already had an idea of what pose I wanted to do so I put that in. Overally, I think the gloomy look of the spring that is beginning to die pictures October well. I always think the later parts of autumn are a little depressing, and I think you can see that in the colours used too. So here you have it, October by Sarah Eleanore!
Judge 1: I think you should be more conscience about your background, lots of random things in it.
Judge 2: It's a good picture, but your arms are a little off for me, I'm sure you we're trying to get the look of holding the tree branch, but the branch is a little off and it kinda looks like you're being held up at night.
Judge 3: I think you we're on the right track, but you stopped half way for me. I think you could've done something more spooky, yet fun.
Miss November - Sihaya Syme
This shot was a very hard choice to make. I had a number of candidates, some better than this one. But in keeping with the assignment I picked it anyway, since it reminded me of November more than the others.
November here is cold, but the skies are a lovely blue most of the time, because of the wind coming in from over the sea and blowing the clouds away. When we do get rain, however, it comes rolling in on dark grey and purple clouds, almost the same colour as the clouds at the Isle of the Nameless.
The sun starts to get pretty watery in November, like the sun you can see in the uncropped picture. That’s why the lighting of this shot also reminds me of ‘my’ November.
The trees here only lose their leaves in December, so in November everything is still orange, red and green. They only start to turn brown in the second half of the month. The colour the leaves have in the shot, is like the one you see at graveyards on All Soul’s Day.
And finally, the colour of the monolith in the background reminds me of the colour some of the buildings in the old centre of my hometown get in autumn, with the trees in front of them and the sun shining.
This shot really represents November to me. I hope the feeling caries over.
Judge 1: Frame is way too wide. Pose is very average, nothing special about it.
Judge 2: I agree, pose is too safe, its one I seen too many times, if you do /beckon, change up the angle.
Judge 3: Nothing really unique about this picture, it's safe and bland. There's nothing there that is adds any punch to November.
Miss December - Szei Ren
I had thought going for Yule Cap/Candycane props would be kind of tasteless, so I was looking for a place that would have a cold winter atmosphere, but also something warm and welcoming. After rampaging through all the cold and snowy areas of Tyria and taking about 2000 screenshots, I stopped by our Guild Hall.. when I realised it was at Frozen Isle, which is the perfect Wintersday/Christmas town. The beautiful snowfall and warm firelight convey a winter feeling that is unique to December.
Judge 1: Nice picture. You almost look like those yuletide maids which brings eggnog to guys at bars. Pose is excellent, very in motion.
Judge 2: I like the scene, does look very log cabin, think it would've been slightly better if you we're inside the little hut thing by the fire.
Judge 3: I'm less than impress, but I will say you are extremely innovating. I like the pictures in the thread better, but this is nice too! I just think it was more impressing to me that you incorporated a Guild Wars Holiday and a real life holiday together and produced a great screen. This is nice too, but a little safe.
We have our scores, and will now decide on who will win Model of The Week and who will be eliminated. Good luck to everyone!
